Shooting families is special. I am able to see the personalities of every little piece of the family- And every piece of the Samson family is fantastic. This little gang is made up of Matt, a 4th/5th grade teacher who enjoys singing silly songs and who helps run Camp Cispus (where I have been a counselor in the past) when its Hanson's turn at the fun outdoor school. Kelli, or you can find her as Mrs. Fresh Scratch at her blog Fresh Scratch, or Mrs. Samson as she teaches 9th grade english, film studies, and greek mythology at Capital High School. I had Mrs. Samson as a teacher my 9th grade year, and she was always one of my very favorite teachers.. So kind, patient, witty, and always enjoyed hearing about her student's lives. After my year in her class, I started watching her adsorbable little ones. Annabelle loves to belt show tunes and read her american girl books. Clementine thrives off of silly faces and eating cookies that her mother stowed in the cookie jar. As fun and quirky as this family is, we needed a special place to shoot. Kelli had the grand idea of trekking up to the Olympic Tree Farm in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains, and I could not be more pleased with her suggestion. It was a beautiful day full of sunshine and fresh air!Absolutely fantastic.
