Contentment

If you have food in your fridge, a roof over your head, and clothes on your back, you are richer than 75% of the world.
If you have money in the bank, some change in your pocket, and a few bills in your wallet, you are among the top 8% of the wealthiest in the world.
If you woke up this morning with more health than sickness, you are luckier than the million people who will not survive this week.
If you can read this post, you are more fortunate than the 3 million people across the world who can not read.

As I was walking through a little vintage shop with a friend earlier today, I quickly shuffled to the back of the store to find my favorite aspect of the place; a little pink glass full of little slips of paper. I always find this exciting whenever I go to the particular store. I reach my hand in the jar, not sure what word I will dig up, and out comes the word "Contentment". Hmmm, I think. I almost quickly put it back, trying to sneak another word that would have some more substance than just, contentment. But I refuse to cheat, and all of a sudden I find so many meaningful things about the wonderful word.  I have it taped right under my speedometer in my car, so I glance at it every 7 seconds or so.  This little slip of paper constantly reminds me to just simply be, content.

"satisfied with what one is or has; not wanting more or anything else."

That blurb above always reminds me how fortunate, and lucky I am to live the great life I live

Although I wholeheartedly agree with most aspects of this post, I would like to comment that sometimes, contentment is not a good thing. Contentment is to be satisfied. However, I feel like being driven to reach newer levels and discover who you are is more valuable. The passion to do more and break boundaries is what makes the human race so amazing.
